今日は台風の上の雲が九州南部にかかり雨〜雲り、、、
しかし波はサイズアップ〜
まだリーフサイズにまでは至らなかったが、昨日と比べると海は重く動き出してきた。
Clouds are covering the sky…
But size is rising~~
Didn’t go up high for the Reef but there are some movements going on.

日南出身のプロサーファーでもあるカワバタショウヘイの息子・エイシン君、小学５年生。
昨日は体育祭で今日は振り替え休日となり、カンに連れられビーチセッションに参加〜
宮崎では恵まれた環境下でキッズサーファーがどんどんとスキルアップしている。

Many kids surfer in Miyazaki is upcoming with the skills.

カンの登場によって日南学園にサーフィン部が誕生し、
九州各地から高校生活を宮崎でサーフィンを育む環境が整ってきた。
そんな中、地元からもシュウヘイのようなスキルのあるサーファーも出現してきたのだ。
Nichinan-Gakuen High School’s surfing club was born because of Kan.
Many surfers around from Kyushu comes to this school for the environment.
And of course, Shuhei kind surfer shows up from it.
Kan Watanabe
高校時代はずっとフリーダムサーフショップで下宿しながら日南学園に通い、
宮崎のリーフやビーチでカンの真骨頂とも言えるレールサーフィンを磨いてきた。
そして今、第２、第３のカンが下に巣立っていっているのがわかる。
Kan used to go to school from Freedom Surf Shop.
And trained and sharpened up his rail work.
I could see his next generation is upcoming.
Ryo Kodama
北宮崎・都濃出身のコダマリョウは現在宮崎市内に住みながらプロ活動を行なっている。
がたいを駆使したダイナミックかつスタイリッシュなサーフィンはハワイでも実証されている。
Ryo Kodama from Northern Miyazaki is living as a Pro Surfer at Miyazaki City.
His dynamic surfing has been proved in North Shore as well.

日向での’QS戦出場のため早めに宮崎入りし、コダマリョウとこに身を寄せていたガイちゃん。
朝一はまだ小さかったビーチブレイクだったが、セッション中盤からみるみるうちにサイズアップ仕出し、
最後の方はクローズセットが来るまでになってきた〜
Guy Sato got to Miyzaki early for the QS competition.
Beach break was small in the morning but size started to rise up during the session and
closed out sets started to come in~
Jun Shiiba
多くの宮崎出身のサーファーがプロになると中央（湘南や千葉）に出て行くなか、
ジュンは宮崎をベースに活動する数少ないプロサーファーの一人だ。
豊富な波、独特なカントリーフィーリングが彼に合っているのだろう。
Many surfers in Miyazaki moves to Shonan or Chiba once they become a Pro but
Jun is one of the rare surfer that works as a Pro in Miyazaki.
This place’s variety of waves and country feeling fits in for him.
まだリーフが上がり切ってこないので、第２ラウンドは昨日やったビーチブレイクでのセッション〜
サイズは昨日の胸〜肩よりはグ〜ンとサイズアップしてオーバーヘッド。
今朝宮崎入りしてきたカトウアラシ＆カナオレオもセッションに駆けつけた〜〜
The Reef doesn’t gain some size so beach break session~~

国内サーキットではオオノマサトシとグラチャン争いを演じているカトウアラシ。
午後また雨が激しくなってきたが波はパンピン〜〜
アラスィ〜のラッドなアクションが冴え渡った〜
Kato Arashi is competing with Masatoshi Ohno for the Grand Champion in Japan.
Waves are pumping but weather is rainy~~

Reo Kanao
先に行われた鴨川戦ではセミファイナルに進出、自己ベストの３位入賞を果たしたカナオレオ。
実力がありながらもなかなかプロになれなかったが、ここにきてようやく結果を残すようになった〜
Reo Kanao won up to the Semi-Final on the competition at Kamogawa and
became 3rd place. He had the skills so great to see him proving it~~

昨年は全く地形の決まっていなかったこの河口のサンドバーだったが、
今年は沖に広く砂がたまり、潮が干きだすとチューブ、リッパボーな波がコロコロとブレイクしだす。
This river-mouth’s bank wasn’t in shape last year but
sands are piled up in the outside so barrels and lippable waves start to show up
when tide goes low.

シュウヘイにとってはまさにホームとも言えるこのビーチブレイク。
放課後は原付に乗ってここでのサーフが彼の日課となっている。

Ryo Kodama
宮崎と言えば地鶏が名物、都濃でリョウのお爺さんが営む”ヒデヨシ”の地鶏は誰もが旨いという。
宮崎のお土産には是非”ヒデヨシ”の地鶏真空パックを〜〜
Miyazazki reminds me of Jidori (chicken). Ryo’s grandpa’s store, “Hideyoshi”s jidori
is one delicious chick. I’ll strongly recommend you to by it’s jidori~~
Kan Watanabe
酒を断ち、ご飯の代わりにスープを飲み、すっかりスリムに変貌、減量に成功したカンちゃん。
更に昨年は遅刻大魔王だったが、今年は朝一から率先して波チェックを行ってくれ、
誰よりもサーフィンに熱が入っていた。
明日はいよいよ台風大接近、天気も回復して来る模様なので期待したい。
Kan stopped drinking alcohol, and drinks a soup for rice and got skinny.
Plus, he was always late last year on session but he went for a morning check and
had his heat up.
Weather will get better yesterday so let’s hope for something to happen.
