J-BAY OPEN Day-3 On

昨日よりサイズダウンして、セットで３フィートくらい、、、
朝一は潮がかなり干いているので、何とも言えないが、満ち込みに期待して、
コンテストはスタートされた。
しかし、ファーストヒートでは波が来ず、１０分経過後リスタートとなり、
更にデビルウインド（ノースイースト）が吹き出し、最悪のコンディションに悪化。
３ヒート目あたりからようやく波が来だし、風もやや緩んできたが、
昨日とは比べるべくも無い、ウイークなコンディションで、
ラウンドー３の残りのヒートのみが消化され、昼にはキャンセルとなった。
その後はあっという間にノース寄りのドオンショアが吹き荒れ、ジャンク化してしまった〜
Size got down to 3 ft range…
Tide was low in the morning so couldn’t tell what would happen next so
competition started with a hope for the afternoon.
No waves on the first heat so restarted the match.
But north east wind started to blow so condition got worse.
From Heat 3, wave & wind’s condition started to get stabilized but
condition was still too weak comparing to yesterday so
competition was canceled in the end.
As we thought, condition just got junky~~
Adriano De Souza
波が大きくても小さくても、海にぺったりと張り付く様なサーフィンを魅せるアドリアーノ。

カレントリーダーのアドリアーノとの対戦で敗れたデーンレイノルズ。
正直昨日の様なクラシックジェイベイでのサーフィンを見たかったな〜〜、、、
Dane Reynolds lost the game by the current leader, Adriano.
I wish we could’ve seen his surfing on the classic J-Bay…
Gabriel Medina
昨日の試合はダウンザラインの勝負だったが、今日の様なスモールコンディションでは、
アクロバット／エレクトリックなサーフインが勝敗の決めてとなってしまった。
In today’s condition, result was depending on acrobatic moves.
Michel Bourez
ラウンドー３の後半は波も来なくなり、スモールウエイブでの戦いと化し、
ミッシェルにとって苦戦となったが、最後の最後でドセットをとらえ、
全てを出し切るかの様なパワーアクションをみせ、見事な逆転勝ちとなった。
On the second half of Round 3, there were no waves coming so
battle went on through the small waves and Michel had a hard time with it but
showed his full power action and won through the game.
Mick Fanning
今回のジェイベイでは試合／練習とも絶好調に見えるミックファニング。
誰も真似の出来ない独特のフォームで、ジェイベイウオールをダンスしているようだ。
Mick Fanning is looking perfect during the competition and on his training.
Kelly Slater
やはり一番凄いオーラを放ちまくっているケリースレーター。
背番号の１１は、ワールドタイトル１１回奪取からつけられている。
Kelly Slater had the most gruesome aura.
His player’s number 11 comes from seizing the World Title 11 times.
Alejo Muniz
同じブラジリアン／フィリーペトレドとの対戦となったアレホ。
ポイント差がついても、落ち着いた試合運びで必ず点数を叩き出すサーフィンを見せ付けた。
アレホは実はアルゼンチーナだが、小さい頃にブラジルに移住し、
リージョンもブラジルに変わっている。
Alejo competed with the same Brazilian, Filipe Toredo.
Even thought the opponent makes some point,
he’ll always smashes a point with calm.
Alejo was actually born in Algentina but he moved to Brazil when he was a young kid.
Kolohe Andino
今日はラウンドー３を消化して終了〜
やる気になれば、後一日で終わらせる事ができるとこまで来た。
予報では週末パンプするようなので、そこまで待つのか？？
Finished up to Round 3 and finished for the day~~
Now this competition could be finished in a day.
Will they wait for the swell to fill in on the weekend??
