ヴォルコムパイププロのファイナルデイがオンされた。
終始アメイジングなバックドアバレルをメイクしまくった
ジョンジョンフローレンスが、メイソン、ケリー、シーバスを下して優勝〜
Volcom Pipe’s final day was held on northerly 4~5~ Backdoor.
John John Florence made a amazing Backdoor barrel all the time so
became the champion~~
2nd Mason Ho
最後の最後までプライオリティを活かし勝負を捨てなかったメイソン。
ダフイ／シュートアウトでの優勝といい、
コンテンダーとしての強さをはっきりと証明してきた。
Mason never gave up the game till the end.
Like on the Da Hui Shoot Out,
he proved his ability as a competitor.
3rd Kelly Slater
１０ポイントライドを叩き出すなど、
素晴らしいパフォーマンスで見る者を感動させてくれたケリー。
ファイナルではコナウインドのシャットダウンにやられ、
３位に甘んじてしまった。
Kelly amazed us by a 10 point ride and his wonderful performance.
But got shut down by the kona wind on the Final so
became 3rd place.
4th Sebastian Zietz
なんだかんだ気がつけばきっちりファイナルに残っているシーバス。
そこが彼の強さ、しぶとさであり、CTサーファーとして君臨する実力だ。
Sebastian was also in the Final.
That’s his toughness and his ability as a CT Surfer.
Todd Chesser Award Kelly Slater
伝説のサイコサーファー／トッドチェッサーアワードに輝いたケリー。
ジニーチェッサーから祝福のキスをもらった。
ケリーにとってトッドチェッサーは永遠のヒーローだと言う。
Kelly got the Todd Chesser Award.
And got a celebration kiss.
Kelly was saying that Todd Chesser is like his hero forever.

クォーターファイナル／ヒートー４に登場したマー。
昨日に引き続き積極的な先制攻撃をかけ優位にたつも、
良い波が少なく全員が苦戦を強いられ、
やはりバックドアが勝負の分かれ目となった。
誰もがバックドアでのスコアを求めるなか、
小振りのパイプの一発が効いて、メイソンに続き２位でラウンドアップ。
日本人初快挙となるセミファイナル進出を果たした。
上の写真、ヒートを終え上がって来てからオフィシャルコールがなされ、
自分が勝ち上がった事を知り、ストークのマーの表情が全てを物語っている。
Mar surfed on Heat 4/ Quarter Final.
Showed a active approach like yesterday and was winning for once but
there weren’t any good waves so
Backdoor was the point to win the game.
Everyone was going for the Backdoor but
Mar’s small shot at Pipe got his up to the Semi Final.
On the picture above, we could tell from Mar’s looking that he’s stoked by
hearing his victory to Semi Final.

そしていよいよ、セミファイナル／ヒートー２。
相手はケリースレーター、コロヘアンディノ、メイソンホー。
もう波はほとんどバックドアしかなく、
ケリーは相変わらずの絶好調でトップをキープ、
２位争いになり、誰もがバックドアバレルに集中していた。
マーもバックドアを積極的に狙うがコンプリートがなく、
ロウスコアのまま４位で敗れてしまった。
２年前のクォーターファイナル進出を上回り、
今年はセミファイナル進出を果たしたマーの偉業に
日本人誰もが感動したに違いない。
グッドジョブ！マー！！
And Heat 2/ Semi Final Started.
Competitors were Kelly Slater, Kolohe Andino and Mason Ho.
Waves were only at Backdoor and
Kelly was keeping in the top rank.
And now, other 3 was fighting for the 2nd place so
concentrated on the Backdoor barre.
Mar couldn’t complete much Backdoor so
lost as a 4th place.
But I could tell everyone’s heart was moved emotionally
by his great achievement.

コンテストは昼前に終わり、いよいよコナウンドが吹き荒れ出し、
無事ヴォルコムパイププロが終了した。
明日から４〜５日はストーミーコンディションに入るハワイ。
またストーム明けのノースショアに期待したい！！
Contest finished before lunch.
From tomorrow, Hawaii’s gonna be in stormy condition.
