@ The Box  Nihonkai

昨夜西風が吹き荒れたものの、今朝はさほどサイズアップしてこなかった日本海だったが、

風が緩みだして来た午後から夕方にかけて一気にスエルがロールインし、

まさかの８〜１０プラスのラインアップが出現した〜〜！！

West wind looked stormy but size didn’t rise up that much at Japan Sea.

Still, swell started to roll in from evening and

size went up to 8~10 +~~!!

俺は昨日沖縄から帰阪し、今日の昼過ぎに日本海入りし、

アズチジョーはお父さんと共に四国からやってき、

マーは伊豆から道を間違えながらも９時間かけて夕方前に到着。

この強烈なラインアップを目の前に、流石の俺もゴーとプッシュできなかったが、

マーはこれを求めて遠路はるばるやってきたのだから、

ニヤっと笑って、ジョー、やろうか、となった〜〜〜

I got back to Osaka from Okinawa last night and drive into Japan Sea this lunch time.

And Joe Azuchi came here by his dad’s drive from Shikoku and

Mar got here from Izu by driving 9 hours.

Couldn’t force them to surf in this mad condition but

Mar drove for a whole long time so

this two crazy surfer went out~~~

このポイントのファウンダーでもあるロクさんの案内でいよいよ驚愕のセッションがスタート。

Roku-san, the founder of this point taught them the way to go out this session started.

ノースよりのスエルだったので基本ライトオンリーだが、

たまのウエストまじりのスエルでレフトのモンスターも姿をみせた。

Swell was northerly so waves were only surfable on right but

lefty monster  sometimes showed up by the westerly swell.

いつものチャンネルは軽くウォッシュアウトされていたので、

もう一つの通路を使ったが、ここもタイミングを見計らわなければ死に目となる。

The channel we usually use was washed out so

they used the other pass to go out.

But if they misses their timing, they’ll get in bug trouble.

人の大きさから波のドデカさ、ブアツさがよくわかるが、

当の本人はどんな気分でこの海にいるのだろうか？？

I wonder how is the surfer feeling out there.

マーは２本の波をとらえ、これは一発目。

もう少しでショルダーに出ていれば、プルインできたのに、と悔しがっていた。

この前にジョーが先に波をとらえ、二人ともゲティングアウト不可能となり、

次のベイまで流され、岩をよじ上ってサバイブしてきた。

そして、これでやめるのかと思いきや、二人は再びパドルアウトし、

マーは同じ様なサイズの波をとらえたが、やはりストレートインとなり、

バレルライドはなかった。

しかしその後インサイドでスタックし、タイトなチャンネルから吐き出されると、

ドセットのマンモスホワイトウォーターにつかまり、

有り得ないガチガチの岩棚に持って行かれてしまい、

あわや大怪我を強いられるところだったが、その水の流れと共に

再びタイトチャンネルに持って行かれ、九死に一生を得た。

その時にフィンを壊し、足も数カ所のカットを負い、

沖にいたジョーを連れて、今度はゲティングアウトしたカレントからなんとか生還してきた。

Mar caught 2 waves and the shot above is his first one.

He was regretting about that he could of pull in that wave.

Joe caught a wave before this and that made them impossible to get out so

they had to get washed away to the bay and climbed up the rock.

I thought they would of come back to the shore but hey went back out again and

Mar caught another wave but couldn’t get a barrel ride.

Later on, they got stuck in the inside and one humongous white water caught them

up to the reef. Luckily no one got an heavy injure.

Anyway, Mar broke his board’s fin and got some few cuts on his leg.

And took Joe back to the shore in one piece.

もうほとんどワイメアと言っていいくらいのサイズ／パワーだった。

明日はサイズダウンしてクリーンなボックスを拝む事が出来るのか？？

それにしても恐るべし驚愕のセッションだった。

These waves were like one Waimea kind size and power.

Will be able to check out that clean Box tomorrow??

Today’s session was one mad session.

今日のボックスセッションでセンターフィンが捥ぎ取れた、

記念すべきボードは守源旅館に飾られてある。
