@ Donkey Bay a.k.a. Skelton Bay Namibia
今朝はまだ真っ暗な午前４時半にサーフガイドのクレッグに迎えに来てもらい、目的のスケルトンベイへ向かった。
スケルトンベイの正式地名はドンキーベイと言われ、ウォリスベイのアザーサイドに位置するため、
ステイ先のスワコップムンドから一旦ウォルスベイに戻り、街を抜け湾を迂回し、
塩田地帯を通り抜け、細長い半島の砂地を四駆車を駆して、ドンキーベイに辿り着くことができる。
イメージ的にはスケルトンコースト沿いにあると思っていたので、もっと北部にあると思っていたが、
実際はウォリスベイの町外れの湾の向こう側にあった。
それでも砂地は深く柔らかいので、いくらトラックがあるとは言ってもイージースタック、
運転には気をつけなければならない。
Gregg, my guide picked me up and headed to Skeleton Bay.
True name of its place is called the Donkey Bay.
To go to this place, we need to make a detour through the gulf and drive through the sand with
4×4 car. Thought this point was placed more in the north but it was just away from the town.
But truck could get easily stuck in the soft sand.

サンライズ前に一番乗りで到着〜〜
向こうに見える街の灯りはウォリスベイタウン。
Got there before the sunrise~~
Light you could see is from the Walvis Bay Town.
徐々に明るくなり波も見え出して来た〜〜
Finally got the view of the waves~~
そしてナミデザートから登ってくるお日様〜〜
今日はゴージャスムーンセットとサンライズが一挙に拝めた〜〜
Sun rising from the desert~~
Good to see a gorgeous moon and a sunrise in same time~~
小さいかな〜と思っていたけど、何気にドセットは肩〜頭〜で、
シェイプもよく、長い長いレフティがサンドバーに沿って延々と伸びて行った〜
Thought size would be rather small but sets were around 4 ft and
shape was beautiful.
サーファーやボディボーダーの車が何台か来出した頃から、いきなり風が北寄りにスイングしだし、
いきなりシェイプが悪くなり出してき、終いには遠くに見えたフォグ（霧）があっという間に押し寄せ、
急激に冷え込むとほとんど波も見えなくなり、クロスオンショアも強まって来た。
しばし車で待機するもらちがあかないので、霧が晴れ、風がオフショアに変わるのを待つため一旦退却〜〜
それにしてもこの冷え込みはにゃんにゃんだ〜〜〜
After couple surfers and bodyboarders came, wind swung to northerly and
shape got unstable. And fog started to appear and became cross onshore.
Waited for the condition to get better for a while but didn’t go well so
retreated for this time~~
And What the heck is with the cold temperature out here.
ビーチを徘徊しているジャコブス（キツネの一種）。
And a fox walking around.
来るときは暗くて見えなかった塩田地帯。
フォグによって霧雨状態になってしまった〜
Salt pan area.
Fog started to change into rain.
コーストラインにはどよ〜んとフォグバンドがかかっていたが、内陸部に行くとドピーカン。
空港近くのサンドデューンをチェケラ〜〜
風によって作られた砂の芸術、まさにナチュラルアートだね〜
Fog was covering up the coast line but deserted area was super sunny.

一日２本しか来ない貨物列車に遭遇〜〜
And saw a freight train which comes only twice a day~~
ウォリスベイのハーバーにあるお土産モール？もチェケラ〜して時間潰すものの、
霧は晴れず、風も変わらん、、、
Looked around the souvenir shop and waited for the fog to clear but
condition never changed…
ウォリスベイとスワコップムンドの間にあるガンズと呼ばれるレフティ。
昨日は腰〜腹〜胸だったのが、今日は大パンプ〜〜
これがオフショアだったら、ここもゴーインオフのはずなのになぁ〜
相変わらずの霧とオンショアのため一旦バックパッカーに戻ったが、
午後も状況は変わらず、明日・ラストデイのモーニングセッションに賭けることにした。

Size wasn’t that big but pretty pumping~~
This place should go off of condition was offshore~
Weather was still onshore and fogy so went back my guest house so
decided to bet on tomorrow’s condition.
バリトプロは今日がファイナルデイとなり、地元サウスアフリカンのジョディスミスが優勝した。
そして舞台はいよいよ７月１２日からコロナオープン・ジェイベイへ〜〜
