Takayuki Wakita @ Eddie Ceremony 2016~2017
今冬はエディをやらないとのオフィシャルコールが出ていたが、
アイカウファミリー、クィックシルバー、そしてWSLとの協議がまとまり、
今冬で第３２回目となる、
ザクィックシルバー・インメモリーオブ・エディアイカウ・ビッグウエイブインビテーショナルが
開催されることになった。
そして大幅に招待選手が入れ替わった中でも、ワキタタカユキの名前が連なっていた〜〜
今日からウエイティングが入り、来年の２月２８日までの間で２０〜２５フィートの波が来ればオンされることになる。
あのあの熱狂が再びワイメアベイに帰ってくるのだ。
今日はワイメアベイで恒例のエディセレモニーが行われた。
Official called out that they wourldn’t hold Eddie this year but
Aikau Family, Quiksilver and WSL had a conference and
deccided to hold to competition again.
Name became The Quiksilver In Memory of Eddie Aikau Big Wave Invitational.
Many of the members of the competition has changed from llast year ut Takayuki Wakita’s
name was still in it~~~
Waiting period will start from today and if 20~25 ft rage swell comes in,
that’s when it’ll start.
That heated up Waimea’s coming back.
For today, Eddie Ceremony was held.
悪天候の今日だったが、セレモニーが始まると雨も止み、陽も差してきた。
Weather was overcast in the start but started to get sunny after the ceremony started.
厳格なハワイアンスタイルのセレモニーだ。

Luke, Landon and Ezekiel’s charge was esteemed from last year so
got in the comeptition as well.

昨冬のエディ、ラウンドー１でワキタがキャッチしたモンスターウエイブ。
ビハインドには優勝したジョンジョンがマンモスホワイトウォーターに耐えている図。
クローズアウトセットがバンバン押し寄せ、クレージー・エキストリームなワイメアベイで行われた。
世界の常識を覆すサーフィンコンテストイベントとなった。

本日のノース、午前中はスモール＆ウインディ＆レイニー
午後から徐々にサイズアップし、夕方には３〜４〜
今夜には６〜８、明日は８〜１０まで上がり、
マウイプロ＆ワールドッカップともオンされるだろう。
Today’s North Shore was small and windy rainy.
Size got up from evening and
it’ll rise up to 8~10 tonight.
