３・１１のフライトがキャンセルになり、ホノルル空港近くのホテルで一泊。

３・１２、午前２時に起床、再び空港に戻り、午前４時半発の臨時便？でようやくハワイを離陸し、

韓国・インチョン空港着が、３・１３の午前１０時半、関空行きの飛行機が４時間待ちの乗り継ぎと聞いていたので、

のんびり手荷物を持って飛行機を出ると、にゃんと１１時５分発の関空行きに乗ってくださいと急かされ、

あの広いインチョン空港を猛ダッシュで駆け抜け、予定より一便早い関空行きに間に合い、

なんとかかんとか１６時間遅れで無事午後１時過ぎに帰国することができた。

そして、こんなメチャクチャな変更につぐ変更のフライトスケジュールにも関わらず、

大阪に居たカネダキヨシくんが関西空港に迎えに来てくれ、なんとかかんとか帰宅することができた。

実はそのキヨシ君、昨年のクリスマスイブ・つまり１２月２４日の夕方、

日本海のスラブ・ボックスの１０フィートをサーフしていた際、ライトの波にねじ込みきれずヘビーワイプワイト。

そのまま巻き上げられ、尻もちをつくようなワイプアウトで、巨大なリップとシャローなリーフに挟まれ、

なんと脊髄を粉砕するという大重症を負ってしまった。

本人の言葉を借りると、背中に雷が落ちたような衝撃で、下半身が動かなくなり、意識も朦朧としたという。

辺りは暗くなり、身体もいうことが効かない中、死を意識したキヨシは懸命のパドルで近くの港までたどり着き助けを求めたという。

港にいた地元の方が異変に気がつき、早急な対応をしてくださり、キヨシは病院に搬送された。

その時のキヨシの背中・背骨はまるでラクダのようにへし曲がっていたらしく、

当初は下半身不随になる可能性が高いとまで診断されたらしい。

しかしその後、足の親指が動くことから、猛烈なリハビリが行われ、徐々にキヨシの体は回復に向かって行った。

やがて、兵庫・豊岡の病院から大阪の病院に移され、さらなるリハビリを続け、

ついには普通の歩行が出来るようにまでなり、つい最近退院し、今は自宅からリハビリ＆マッサージの日々を送っているという。

まだ背中にボルト＆鉄板が入っているので、サーフィンはもちろん、無理な運動はできないが、

通常の生活に戻れていること自体物凄い回復力・ミラクルだと言われている。

昨年の今頃結婚式を挙げ、ハワイにも仲睦まじく来ていた妻・アリサちゃんもご懐妊〜〜来月には出産予定〜〜

まさに生死の境から蘇ったと言えるキヨシ。

まだまだ海に戻るまで時間はかかると思うけど、ゆっくりじっくり頑張ってもらいたい。

（そんな状態なのに迎えに来させて、餃子の王将まで付き合わせて、すんません〜）

So I stayed over night at the hotel near the airport.

Our flight finally left Honolulu on 4:30 am and got to Incheon on 10:30 am.

Another 4 hour wait for the transfer to Kansai Airport.

Had time so we were just hanging around but got announced that we could hop

onto the earlier flight so we ran through the wide airport and

able to get to Osaa on 1 pm.

In this kind of inconsistent schedule, Kiyoshi Kaneda picked us up and lead us home.

By the way, Kiyoshi ate a heavy wipe out at the Box during Christmas Eve and

got stuck in the shallow reef and got a heavy injury on his spinal chord.

He had a strong shock like a lightning strike hit him and when darkness started to cover his sight

he felt death was coming close so paddled like hell to the nearest port.

There were some local fishermen at the port so helped him him out and got sent to the hospital.

I heard that his back’s shape was like a camel because of the bent spinal chord and

doctor even diagnosed that his body could get paralyze by the effect of shock.

But Kiyoshi’s leg finger started to move bit by bot and after all these rehabilitation,

his body started to cure naturally.

And finally got out from the hospital and he’s doing his rehab & massage at home.

He still has some bolts inside his back so he can’t move aggressively but

it’s just a miracle to recover up to this point from that situation.

Married with Arisa last year at Hawaii and he’s gonna be a dad next month~~

Lucky think Kiyoshi got back from the borderline of the death.

I’m sure it’ll take time to go back to the ocean but take your time and go step by step.

元気な姿のキヨシを見れてよかった〜〜

俺も６年前首の骨を折ったことがあるので、辛い気持ちはよくわかる、、、

でもやっぱ、究極のスリルを味わうには、究極のリスクを支払わなけらばならない、ということなんだね〜〜

これは、マーベリックで命を落とした、あのマークフーの言葉、、、、

ちと重い話になったけど、とりあえずハワイから帰国しますた〜〜

Good to see him in one piece~~

surfer always has to pay a extreme risk to gain a extreme thrill~~
