本日のノース、ついに風が止んでクリーンアップ〜〜
５〜７フィートのバックドア／オフザウォールが蘇った〜〜
しかし昼前頃から、怪しい南風が吹き出すと、結局コナウインド（南西）となり、
またまたゲットジャンクコンディションに舞い戻ってしまった〜〜
更に夕方から風雨も強まり、台風の様な嵐となり、
出先のハレイワからノースに戻る道中は、もう洪水の様になり、
雷がドッカ〜ンドッカ〜ン鳴り響き、そこら中が停電しはじめ、
信じられない事に、走ってるすぐ横の電柱に雷が落ち、電線が切れ、
その電線が車の屋根にヒットすると、花火の様に弾け、
キナ臭い煙に包まれ、車が燃えたのではないかと一瞬パニックに陥ったほどだった。
その時、よりによって仮免許取りたてのマヒナちゃんが運転してたもんだから、
彼女自身もオッタマビックリの連続だった〜〜
そんなこんなの正月／１月２日ですた〜
Wind stopped blowing so ocean is clean today~~~
5~7ft Off The Wall/ Backdoor is back to action~~~
But some uncertain south wind started to blow and changed into kona wind so
condition became junky again~~~
Got stormy from evening and
started to flood when we were driving back to Northshore from Haleiwa and
suddenly, lighting started to crash and lights went black out.
And I couldn’t believe but the electric wire hit our car’s roof and
made some fire like a firework.
It sounds crazy but it smelled a bit burn so I thought my car was burning and
Mahina, who got the permit just then was driving so
what a surprise from January 2nd~~~~

朝の内はオーバーキャストながら、久々のバックドアがゴーインオフ〜〜
あのマー君にして、ジョーのバックドアはキッズとは思えない巧さがあると言わしめた。
昨冬初めてのノースを経験して以来、彼の心にバックドアが住み着いたのだ。
Weather was overcast in the morning but Backdoor was going off~~~
Even Mar said that Jo has some potential that doesn’t look like one kid.
After he surfed in Northshore last year, his heart is addicted to Backdoor.

１月中旬の帰国をやめにして、このままヴォルコムパイプに出場し、
２月中旬までのステイを決め込んだマー。
Mar decided to stay until the middle of February and participate on the Volcom Pipe.
Kanoa Igarashi
ヴァンズ／ワールドカップでは、足の怪我のため、
途中でカリフォルニアに帰ってしまったカノアだったが、再びノースに戻って来たぜ〜
１／１５からサンセットプロジュニアがスタートされる。
Kanoa went back to California once after he got an injury
on his foot at the World Cup/ Vans but he’s back to Northshore again~~~
Sunset Pro Junior’s gonna start from January 15th.
Kaishu Tanaka
ノースに居るときはサーフィンとトレーニングに励むカイシュウ。
昨日の様に波の良くない時は、カヘアコーチの元で体を鍛えまくっている。
Kaishu surfs and trains most of the day when he’s staying is Northsore.
He trains like hell with Coach Kahea when waves aren’t good like yesterday.

今日は時間帯によってバックドアが良かったり、オフザが良かったりしていた。
サイズも３〜４〜かなと思いきや、フリッキン７オーバーのセットが来るコンディションだった。
Backdoor and Off The Wall looked good depending on the time.
Size was 3~4ft in the beginning but there were some frek’n 7+ sets coming sometimes.
Kosei Sawamura
昨年の１２／２１のパイプデイを境に、風の良かった日、いや風の良かった時間は数時間だろう。
今日も午前中はもったが、またまたストーミーに突入してしまった。
After last year’s Pipe day on December 21st, good condition doesn’t come.
Longest is for few hours.
Waves lasted for this morning but got stormy again.

だからこんな時は、自分のペースと言うより、自然のリズムに合わせて、海／波と対峙するべきだ。
So I should face toward the ocean and waves and live along with the nature’s rhythm.

最近バックドアでのポジションが確立されてきたタイシ。
ノーメイクでもこれだけクリーンなバレルに包まれれば、ハッピーニューイヤ〜〜
Taishi is getting his own position at Backdoor recently.
It’ll be a happy new year if he got into this clean barrel even though he couldn’t make it~~
なんか、、、誰も何も決められず、あっさり上がって来るボーイズ、、、、
そんな、お正月、１／２のバック／オフザセッションでした〜〜〜
Boys coming out with nothing….
