本日のノース、サイズダウンしたものの、スティル６〜１０プラス。
今回のビッグスエルでついに砂が捥ぎ取れ、パイプの岩が、牙が剥き出した。
沖ではすでにコナウインドが吹いているので、ウネリがバラバラになり、
波の間隔が狭く、ノースとウエストが入り交じり、
スケッチー、ピッチー、スティープなコンディションのパイプデイだった。
ショウタの一本目は、まさにダイカインドのワイプアウト。
絶対大怪我をしたと思ったほどだったが、奇跡的に大丈夫だった。
そして、この２本目のバックドアは、
おそらく日本人バックドアアタック史上、最高峰とも言える一撃だ。
サイズ、シェイプ、バレルの長さ、開き方、
そこにショウタのぶれないパーフェクトラインが合わさり、
まさにウエイブオブザデイと言える、感動のワンライドだった。
Size went down but it’s still 6~10+
Sands came off and reef started to come out by this big swell in Pipe.
Swells are not stabled by the kona wind and
Pipe was sketchy and pitchy by the north west swell.
On Shota’s first wave he ate a serious kind deadly wipe out and
I thought he got one serious injury but he was lucky that he didn’t get hurt.
And this 2nd wave in Backdoor was
one of the best Backdoor attack by the Japanese.
Size, shape, barrel’s length and perfect line made this a
wave of the day.

一昨日２度目のノース入りを果たしたユウジロウ。
今回はなんとヴォルコムハウスの３階／特等席にステイすることができた。
ユウジロウの得意とするノースピークから、両手を使ったストールはクール〜
Yujiro got back to Northshore on the day before yesterday.
And he’s staying at Volcom House’s 3rd floor.

一昨日のワイメアセッションで、また一皮剥けた感のあるカイシュウ。
昨日もアウトサイドパイプにチャレンジし、
いよいよネクストレベルの扉が開かれた。
Kaishu earned something from the before yesterday’s Waimea session.
He challenged out side Pipe yesterday so
it seems like he’s on to the next stage.

ヴォルコムパイプに向けての舞台が整ったね〜〜

ヴォルコムパイプには多くの日本人サーファーが出場する。
アラシもまたその一人で、ヴォルコムパイプが終わると
すぐにオーストラリアレッグに突入する。
Many Japanese surfers gonna participate on the Volcom Pipe.
And Arashi’s gonna fly to Australia right after the competition ends.

今日はグラッシーモーニング後、コナウインドにスイングし、
午後はパイプはブロウアウト、ハレイワがゴーインオフだったらしい。
After the glassy morning, wind swang to kona wind so
Pipe blew out and Haleiwa was going off.

ブラジルの若手ビッグウエーバーのルーカスとエアードロップ試みるタクミ。
これは二人仲良くワイプアウトだった〜〜
今日はとにかくホレホレのコンディションだった。

１／２５に帰国するタクミ。
ターゲットは２月から始まるオーストラリアでのQS２戦だ。
Takumi is going back to Japan on January 25th.
He’s aiming for the QS held at Australia.

ビッグスエルのおかげでオフザからパイプにかけて
ほとんどビーチがなくなってしまい、流木などの残骸も打上っている。
Beach is gone and many stuffs are washed out to the shore by the big swell.

パイプセッションの後、夕方ハレイワに行ったら、
波は６〜８〜でゴーインオフ、
ケリーやジョンジョン等がセッションしていたと興奮気味に語ってくれた。
Jun told us that Haleiwa was going off after he moved from Pipe and
John John and Kelly was doing some session.

沖のビッグセットをとらえ、
ジャッキンアップしてきたインサイドボウルにプルインしていったユウマ。

Yuma got the big set in the out and pulled into the inside bowl.

今日のパイプはサイズの幅が広く、コンパクトな４〜６から、
セカンド級が割れる１０〜１２のモンスターも来襲する一日だった。
Today’s Pipe’s size was random. Some were 4~6 and
some were 10~12 kind monster.

朝一のパイプ、まずはボディボーダーがパドルアウトしはじめ、
陽が出て来るとサーファーもこぞって出て行った。
やっぱり、今日もパイプデイとなった〜〜〜
Bodyboarder started to paddle out in the early morning and
surfer started to go out after the sun rose up.

BBQ @ Rock Dance House
今日は午後からコナウインド、明日はノースウインド予報が出ていたので、
ロックダンスハウスにて、大バーベキューパ〜チ〜〜
ずっと波がゴーインオフ、ノンストップワークだったので、
久々、労いのドリンクオン〜〜
Kona wins started to blow and the forecast said north wind will fill in tomorrow so
did a big BBQ party at Rockdance House~~~
Waves were going off and worked all day long so
finally got to drink~~~
